Al-Waqa'i'a al-Masriya

Al-Waqa'i`a al-Masriya (Arabic: الوقائع المصرية / ALA-LC: al-Waqā’i‘a al-Maṣrīyah; Egyptian Affairs) is an Egyptian newspaper established in 1828 on the order of Muhammad Ali. It was the first newspaper to be indigenous to the Middle East. At first, it was written in both Ottoman Turkish and Arabic.[1][2]
Al-Waqa'i`a was the Official Gazette of Egypt, and is now published as an appendix of the Official Journal.[3]
