Vincent Scuro

Vincent Scuro (born 1951) is an American author and musician.

Scuro's first book, Presenting the Marching Band, was published by in 1974. Scuro then wrote three science and nature books in the Dodd, Mead and Company Wonders series. He also co-authored eight books in the same series with Sigmund A. Lavine. His first novel was published in 2001. Scuro also was a staff correspondent for the Twin-Boro News from 1974-1975, a columnist for the Southwest Orlando Bulletin from 1992-2010, and has been a contributing writer to Satellite Orbit magazine and the Los Angeles Times.

Scuro played trumpet in the first McDonald's All-American High School Band (1967), participated in demo record recording sessions in New York City, and performed at clubs, colleges, and banquet halls throughout New York and New Jersey during the 1970s. Since rebooting his music career in 2012, he has performed at the Patriot Day ceremonies at the Orange County (FL) Convention Center, at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, and at other Central Florida venues.

Early life

Scuro was born to an Italian-American family in New Jersey. He grew up in Bergenfield, New Jersey , graduated from Bergenfield High School[1] and later lived in Hillsdale, New Jersey[2] His post-high school academic work included degrees from Saint Peter's College (now Saint Peter's University), where he played varsity baseball, wrote for the newspaper, and performed with the concert band, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he received a master's degree.
