The Warsaw–Kunowice railway is a Polish 32-kilometre long suburban railway line, that connects Warsaw with Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

Opening

The line was opened in 1927.

Modernisation

The line was planned to be re-electrified from 600 V DC to 3 kV DC 2013.[1] This eventually happened on the night of 27/28 May 2016.

In November 2015 PKP PLK announced a tender for the modernisation of Route 447 on the section between Warszawa Włochy and Grodzisk Mazowiecki. As part of modernisation, which is to improve movements in the Warsaw agglomeration, the stations on the line will be rebuilt and a new station will be built in Parzniew. After completion of the work the line speed will increase from 60-80 km/h to 120 km/h. The investment is planned for the years 2016-2019. [2]

Usage

The line is used by the company Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa who operate services between Warszawa Śródmieście WKD and Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska. There is a branch to Milanówek Grudów from Podkowa Leśnia Główna.
