Where Is My Castle is the fourteenth studio album by American country music artist, Connie Smith. The album was released in January 1971 by RCA Records and was produced by Bob Ferguson. The album's title track became a major hit in 1971, peaking in the Billboard Country Top 20.

Background

Where Is My Castle consisted of ten tracks of newly recorded material by Connie Smith. The album featured two cover versions of songs by Conway Twitty: "I'm So Used to Loving You" and "Hello Darlin'." In addition, the album also included covers of Loretta Lynn's "Before I'm Over You" and "When a House Is Not a Home." It also included two Gospel songs, "Clinging to Saving a Hand" and "Jesus Take a Hold,"[1] as Smith was beginning to incorporate more Christian music into her studio albums. Where is My Castle was released on a 12-inch LP with five songs on each side of the vinyl record. The album has not been reissued on compact disc since its initial release in early 1971 through RCA Victor.[2]

Release

Where Is My Castle's title track was the only single released from the album. Released in December 1970, the title track became a Top 20 hit on the American and Canadian Country charts, peaking at #11 on the Billboard Magazine Hot Country Songs chart, and also peaking at #20 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart. The album also charted, peaking at #39 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart upon its initial release in January 1971.[3]
