Xanthobacter autotrophicus is a Gram-positive, aerobic, pleomorphic and nitrogen-fixing bacteria from the family of Xanthobacteraceae which has been isolated from black pool sludge in Germany.[1][4][5][6][7] Xanthobacter autotrophicus can utilize 1,2-dichloroethane, methanol and propane.[3][7][8][9]
