"You're My Number One" (known as You're My #1) is a song by singers Enrique Iglesias, taken from his first English album and fourth studio album Enrique. This is the fourth single released by the singer, after the successes of Be with You. The song received many positive reviews and welcomed all over the world, which split into 3 versions from different territories: with Valen Hsu for the Asian market, with Sandy & Junior for the South America market, and with Alsou for the Eastern Europe market.

Background

The song is co-written by Iglesias and Lester Mendez, both also produced the song, unlike its predecessor singles with acclaimed successes on chart over the world, "You're My #1" does not achieved success like that, but it is Iglesias's significant ballad in countries which does not speak English, and also the most significant ballad English song in his early career. The version in the album is the solo version, recognising it can be sung with a female as duets, Iglesias invited many female singers from different country from over the world to record the part with him.

The versions with the guest vocals is arranged in different ways. In the version with Valen Hsu, Iglesias sang the first half verse, Hsu sang the second half verse, in Chinese, Hsu later have a backing vocals in the chorus. In the version with Sandy & Junior, Iglesias sang entirely the first verse, Sandy Leah sang the second, with the singers sing the chorus together, and Sandy Leah sing line-to-line with Iglesias in the final, In the version with Alsou, Iglesias sang the first two line of the first verse, Alsou sang the other two line, Alsou repeat the chorus-line when Iglesias sang the chorus.

When performing on stage, Iglesias usually take a female from the crowd to go on stage with him, so he can performed it "truer".

Music video

Like the versions in the single, there are also 3 different music videos for the song: the version with Valen Hsu taken in the studio,[1] the version with Sandy & Junior taken at the beach,[2] and the version with Alsou taken on stage, with many flashbacks.[3]
