Younes Asakere

Younes Asakere (Arabic: یونس عساکرة) is an Iranian Arab citizen that committed self-immolation because of his shop confiscation by municipality in March 2015, in front of municipality building.^[1][2][3] Younes was born in 1362 Hijri, lives in Khorramshahr (mohammarah) and is a peddler. When he referred to municipality of Khorramshar to have a permission to setting up a booth for several time he got negative answer. he decided to commit self-immolation in the middle of municipality’s hall. His goods for sale confiscated by the Municipal of ficials.youneswas80per centburns.^[4] Deputy Governor of Khouzestan said "Younes’ saction is inhumane and illicit" in addition he said "In case of negligence and failure in dealing with clients the county will be decisive."[3] Younes moved to the Taleghani hospital in Ahwaz after the immolating.

Life

Yones had set up a stand in Khoramshahr Bazar with his brother for some years. This was the only way of their subsistence. Younes is married and has two children.^[5][6] A while before his immolation, Younes referred to the municipality to have a stable booth,^[7] but his request was ignored by the city council three times. And for the last time, on 23 esfand 1393 at 7:45 AM, he referred to municipality and his request was ignored again. Because of this he became angry and went to the gasoline station, bought a 1.5-liter gasoline and threatened self-immolation, but his threatening was ignored again and he ignited himself suddenly.^[8][9]
