Zora Neale Hurston Museum of Fine Arts
The Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts, also known as The Hurston, is an art museum in Eatonville, Florida. It is named for African-American author Zora Neale Hurston, whose family moved to Eatonville when she was three years old.
The museum contains information concerning the unique history of Eatonville, and its artistic displays are centered on individuals of African descent, from the United States or the diaspora.
Background
Established in 1990, the museum shows artworks of African-American artists and other artists from the African diaspora.[1] It has developed partnerships with the Museum in Orlando and Cornell University's program at Rollins College.
The museum offers maps for self-guided tours of the area and its history and sets up guided tours.[2] The museum is located at 227 East Kennedy Boulevard.
