Amol Kagne is an Indian producer, actor and director. Amol Kagne is well known for his Hindi and Marathi film Halal, as a producer which garnered many awards and nominations before its release. Halal (film) has been screened at Cannes Film Festival, Asian Film Festival, Goa International film Festival & Pune international Film Festival. Halal (film) won 6 Maharashtra Government State Awards, Colours Awards etc.[1] Amol Kagne's upcoming films are 31st October (film), Government Resolution and Rangel. Amol Kagne started his career with theater as actor, director and writer. He acted in 14 academic theater productions.[2]

Education

Amol Kagne has completed DHELS course from Indira Gandhi National Open University. The course is recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India, Government of India, New Delhi & affiliated by Indira Gandhi National Open University. Amol Kagne completed his Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune. He has written and directed a drama 'Swatantra Mhanje Nakki Kaay ?' which was performed in the amphitheater at the Lalit Kala Kendra.[2] He performed at Bharat Rang Mahotsav National School of Drama, Delhi and Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, Mumbai.

Career

Amol Kagne worked as a producer with National Award Winner director Shivaji Lotan Patil in Halal (film), 31st October (film) and 'Government Resolution' and also acted in it. He performed at Bharat Rang Mahotsav National School of Drama, Delhi and Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai. He acted in 14 Academic Theatre Productions. He designed costumes for two academic productions, and also designed lighting for five academic productions. He started his own production house and produced its first film Halal with National Film Awards winning director Shivaji Lotan Patil, in which Pritam Kagne, Chinmay Mandlekar and Priyadarshan Jadhav are in lead roles. He is the recipient of Maharashtra State awards for Halal in best producer category.[2][3] Amol also works at Ayodhya Multi Specialist Hospital. This Hospital is founded by Laxman Kagne in 1990, started with the aim to give the good diagnose to the peoples.[2]

Amol Kagne Films is a film production company founded by Laxman Kagne and Amol Kage in 2013. Under Amol Kagne Films' banner first film Halal was produced and directed by National Award Winner director Shivaji Lotan Patil. Amol Kagne Films got the best film award at 53rd Maharashtra state Film awards 2016.[2] Currently Amol Kagne Films is working on their 2 new films, details of which will be announced in January 2017.

Halal

Halal is the first Marathi film produced by Amol Kagne under the Amol Kagne Films banner. The film deals with the theme of loyalty, love and the institution of marriage that is deemed to be pious by society. It is a story of human emotions, which depicts the trials and tribulations that women in our society have gone through. Halal (film) was screened at the Cannes and Goa Film Festivals.[9]

31 October 1984 Film

31st October (film) is an Indian Hindi-language film written and produced by Harry Sachdeva and directed by National Award Winner Shivaji Lotan Patil. Amol Kagne is an Assistant Director for this film. The film, based on a true story, is the first Bollywood film to focus on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination, which occurred 31 October 1984. The film is all set to release on 7 October 2016.[10]

Government Resolution

Government Resolution is the upcoming Marathi film. The film is directed by Shivaji Loten Patil. The film stars Sayaji Shinde, Umesh Kamat & Amol kagne.[2]

Amol Kagne Films won Best debut Film Production award in 53rd Maharashtra State Film Awards. Halal screened at the Pune International Film Festival, the Yashvantrao Chavan International Film Festival and the Aurangabad International Film Festival.[14] [15]The film has received highly positive reviews from audience, critics & media.[16][17] Screenplay Writer Nishant Dhapse won "Best Marathi Screenplay Award" at Pune International Film Festival.[18] Halal film is to be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, scheduled between May 11 and 22, 2016.[19] Halal film also screened at Goa Film Festival, receiving overwhelming response.There were about 20 films screened during this film festival, including one Konkani film.[20] Halal film was screened at Godrej International Film Festival 2016 on 12 August 2016.[21] Halal now going to be screened at the 47th International Film Festival of India(IFFI).Which will be held during 20th to 28th november 2016 at Goa.[22] [23][24]
