The Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi the Great (Turkmen: Türkmenistanyň Beýik Saparmyrat Türkmenbaşy adyndaky Baş drama teatry is a main theatre in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, designed by French company Bouygues. Its repertoire is mainly based on the plays of classical and modern Turkmen playwrights, plays sound in the Turkmen language. Theater troupe consists of folk and popular artists of Turkmenistan.[1]

The theater opened in October 2005, and was named in honor of the President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov.[2]
