Turning Point is a registered charity and was founded in 1986 to assist the bereaved and ill and was one of the first organisations in Ireland to offer humanistic and integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy services. Turning Point continues to offer these services and is a registered charity (No. 7975).

(Turning Point Training Institute) is an Institute located in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland.Turning Point Training Institute, established in 2001, offers a part-time MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy validated and awarded by University College Cork. The MSc is run at the Institute's Dún Laoghaire base. Other courses provided by TPTI include a Foundation Course in Counselling Psychotherapy, (40 hours part-time), and a range of Continuing Professional Development Programmes.
