Ambattur taluk

Ambattur taluk is a taluk of Tiruvallur district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Ambattur. This taluk was created from a division of Ponneri Taluk. The RTO code for Ambattur taluk is TN-13. The Revenue villages in Ambattur taluk are Alathur, Ambattur, Arukkambakkam, Athipattu, Kadavoor, Kakkapallam, Kilkondaiyur, Koilpadagai, Korattur, Mannur, Melpakkam, Menambedu, Mitnamallee, Morai, Mugapair, Muthapudhupattu, Oragadam, Padi, Palavode, Pammadukulam, Pandeswaram, Pattravakkam, Pothur, Thirumullaivoyal, Vellacheri and Vellanur.

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Ambattur had a population of 924474 with 469137 males and 455337 females. There were 971 women for every 1000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 81.9. Child population in the age group below 6 was 45980 males and 43831 females.[1]
