First Baptist Academy (FBA) is a coeducational independent school located in the Memorial Park area of Houston, Texas, United States. First Baptist Academy offers Early Childhood though 8th grade college preparatory education. First Baptist Academy Primary School students range from early childhood through age 4. Lower School grades include Kindergarten through Grade 5, and the Middle School includes Grade 6 through Grade 8.
2015-2016 tuition for grade K-2 $13,495; grade 3-4 tuition is $14,700; grade 5-8 tuition is $16,315. Partial to full need-based scholarships are available.

Overview
First Baptist Academy is a premier faith-based college preparatory early childhood to eighth grade school that promoted leadership through the development of sound moral character, the enhancement of spiritual life, and the perpetuation of growth in Christian ideals. The primary school also serves families with little ones by providing flexible weekday options for children age infant through two. The school is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
History
First Baptist Academy, a ministry of Houston’s First Baptist Church, was first established in 1970 by James Moody and Marcene Adams. The school served the families of Northwest Houston by providing a safe environment and challenging education. In 1980, the school became a ministry of HFBC and continued to meet the spiritual and educational needs of its students. In 1998, HFBC joined with other local churches in establishing an area high school, and the lower school and middle school grades were moved to a beautiful new campus at the church. [1]
Students With Advanced Needs
Every First Baptist Academy teacher earns a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from the Texas Education Agency. This requires 30 hours of initial training, followed by annual training to maintain the endorsement. As a result of this intensive training, every First Baptist Academy teacher is able to provide a range of in-class activities which develop higher thinking skills. Additionally, students reading above grade level are provided separate enrichment readings which allow them to progress faster than their peers. Advanced students in other subjects are provided opportunities to expand their special talents through the GT/Enrichment program, Innovations. Innovations instructors teach students by questioning, challenging, and encouraging students to analyze and problem solve.
