Georg Müller (Catholic bishop)

Georg Müller, SS.CC. (June 7, 1951 October 25, 2015) was the bishop of the Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Trondheim, which encompasses central sections of Norway.[1]

Müller was born in Volkesfeld, Germany. He made his simple vows with the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on July 28, 1972, and completed the order's theological seminary in 1977. He was ordained to the priesthood on March 18, 1978, by bishop Gerhard Schwenzer in Simpelveld in the Netherlands. He completed his university education at the University of Münster in 1981. On July 28, 1997, he was consecrated as bishop in Trondheim. On June 8, 2009,[2] Müller resigned and left Trondheim.[3] In April 2010 the real reason for the resignation was communicated: Müller had admitted sexual abuse of an altar boy at the beginning of the 1990s.[4]
