Life and career

Georgia was born in Malton, North Yorkshire. She has worked as a model and florist. At the age of 2, Horsley was taken into hospital due to meningitis, the doctors and Georgia's family all believed she was fine and recovered, but during a school health check the school nurse discovered that Georgia was deaf in her right ear. Horsley kept her deaf ear quiet during the Miss England trials but after not hearing her number as she was called to the finals she then decided it was to time to tell everyone and come clean about it. Georgia is now very helpful and supportive of people struggling with deafness. She has 10 GCSEs, an A Level in Art, two AS Levels in Geography and Sociology, a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, and a Red Cross Therapeutic care course qualification. Horsley's aim was to pursue a career as a media make-up artist and she was due to start a degree in design and media make-up at university before she won the title of Miss England. In 2013 McFly member Danny Jones, Georgia's long-term boyfriend, proposed during their holiday in Cyprus. They wed on Saturday 2nd of August 2014 in her home town of Malton, North Yorkshire.[1]

Participation in Miss World 2007

Horsley had her success, at one of the fast track events held during the pageant, when she was one of the top 18 semifinalists of the Miss World Talent.

Controversies

It was reported internationally when the representatives of the Miss England pageant committee asked her to "fatten up" in order to get a more "womanly figure" and to help end anorexia among models. She was even featured on the American television network NBC's Today show for this issue.[2]
