Jakunówko [jakuˈnufkɔ] (German: Jakunen, until 1938 Jakunowken) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pozezdrze, within Węgorzewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Pozezdrze, 17 km (11 mi) east of Węgorzewo, and 107 km (66 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945, the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration by the Potsdam Agreement under territorial changes demanded by the Soviet Union. Most Germans fled or were expelled and replaced with Poles expelled from the Polish areas annexed by the Soviet Union or forced to settle in the area through Operation Vistula in 1947.
The village has an approximate population of 280.
