Decorate Decorate is a five-piece indie rock band based in Copenhagen, Denmark, which appeared on the alternative rock scene in 2007. With the demo single "Surname of Copenhagen" the band reached the top of the charts at Det elektriske barometer (The Electric Barometer)[1] – a Danish National Radio alternative chart, ahead of recognized bands such as Moi Caprice and Sterling.

History

The band was formed in January 2006. Its first concerts took place in August 2006 at Lades Kælder and Stengade 30. In May 2007 the band released its debut EP named Normandie, which was recognized by local media.[2][3] The single "Karen" was in heavy rotation on the National Danish Radio (P3), where the editor of the programme Public Søndag (Public Sunday)[4] noticed the band and made the record "album of the month".

In 2007 the band played several gigs including an appearance at the Roskilde Festival. Several TV spots followed on MTV and Danish National Television where the second single music video "Surname of Copenhagen"[5] was presented. On 1 June 2009 the band released its debut full-length album Instructions.

On 21 September 2009 Decorate Decorate announced that it would no longer play.[6]
