Requiem (Saint-Saëns)

The Requiem, Op. 54, was written by Camille Saint-Saens in 1878.[1]

Structure

The Requiem consists of eight movements:

  1. Kyrie
  2. Dies Irae
  3. Rex Tremendae
  4. Oro Supplex
  5. Hostias (Offertory)
  6. Sanctus
  7. Benedictus
  8. Agnus Dei

Instrumentation

It is scored for SATB soloists, choir, 4 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 English horns, 4 bassoons, 4 horns, 4 harps, 4 trombones, timpani, organ, and strings.
