Câmpulung County is one of the historic counties of Bukovina, Romania. The county seat was Câmpulung Moldovenesc.[1]

In 1938, the county was disestablished and incorporated into the newly formed Ținutul Suceava,[2] but it was re-established in 1940 after the fall of Carol II's regime - only to be abolished 10 years later by the Communist regime.[2]

Geography

Câmpulung County covered 2,349 km2[1] and was located in Bukovina. Currently, the territory that comprised Baia County is now included at present in Suceava County. In the interwar period, the county neighbored Rădăuți County to the north, Suceava to the east, Baia to the southeast, Neamț and Mureș to the south, and Năsăud counties to the west.[1]

Administrative organization

Administratively, Câmpulung County was divided into three districts (plăși):[1]

  1. Plasa Dornei
  2. Plasa Humorului
  3. Plasa Moldovei
