Cancelo is a settlement in the eastern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. It is situated near the east coast, 4 km northwest of Pedra Badejo and 5 km southeast of Calheta de São Miguel. It is connected with the road linking Praia and the north of the island via Pedra Badejo.

About 3 km upstream is the Figueira Gordo dam and reservour constructed around 2013 and provides irrigation to the irrigated farms, the reservoir is nearly an s shaped. It is in the settlement of Figueira Gordo.
