• Timecop (1994): Part of the plot is set in 2004, as Senator Aaron McComb, the main antagonist in the film, tries to run a presidential campaign with illegal funds.

• The Lake House (2006): The male romantic interest (Keanu Reeves) lives in 2004, two years in the past from the female lead (Sandra Bullock) in the 'present' of 2006.^[1]

• Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2002)
• Resident Evil 4 (2005)
• Resident Evil: Revelations (2012): The "Terragrigia Panic" is set in 2004, as terrorist group Il Veltro launches an attack on the city of Terragrigia by using bio-organic weapons. The Federal Bioterrorism Commission is forced to destroy the city in order to end the attack.
• Grand Theft Auto V (2013): The prologue is set in 2004, where Michael, Trevor and their allies, including Brad Snider, rob a bank in the fictional town of Lurdendorf and attempt to escape via plane.
